Details

The goal of this project is to support New West Family Place’s strategic growth and equity initiatives by conducting a comprehensive community service gap scan and partnership landscape review focused on early childhood and parenting programs across Metro Vancouver.

The student will identify and assess existing parenting programs, assess their cultural responsiveness and alignment with strengths-based approaches, and map current service coverage. Through a comparative analysis and gap identification process, the student will generate actionable insights and recommendations for potential new program areas and community partnerships.

The project aims to strengthen New West Family Place’s ability to serve underserved families, increase program inclusivity, and strategically expand its partnerships to better support the diverse needs of families with young children.

Deliverables
  1. Conduct a landscape scan of existing early childhood and parenting programs offered in Metro Vancouver.
  2. Create a comprehensive research report mapping these programs, with details such as program focus, delivery models, target populations, cultural responsiveness, and use of strengths-based approaches.
  3. Develop a comparison matrix summarizing key features of each program to allow for easy analysis and benchmarking.
  4. Perform a gap analysis to identify underserved populations, geographic gaps, and service gaps in culturally responsive programming.
  5. Prepare a set of actionable recommendations for New West Family Place, including potential new program ideas and a list of priority organizations or networks for strategic partnerships.
  6. Deliver a final presentation summarizing findings and recommendations to the Executive Director and senior leadership team.
